Perspectives on Aesthetics
For this course, my teammates and I designed three different types of coffee machines.
The altruistic coffee maker is meant to connect people and increase sociability in the streets. The machine hangs on two sides of a public wall. If someone is present on both sides, one can grind the coffee and thus make a cup for the stranger on the other side.
The predetermined design consists of a machine that decides on its own when the user has to drink it’s coffee. This way, it provides structure to a workers day.
Lastly, status coffee was meant for a society in which influence is key. This way, people with greater importance for society gets better coffee to present oneself with.
